About Seven Hills Restaurant

Let me introduce you to Seven Hills Restaurant, a place I genuinely enjoy talking about whenever food in Istanbul comes up, because it blends location, flavor, and atmosphere in a way that feels effortless. Sitting right in Cankurtaran on Tevkifhane Street, this restaurant places you in the historic heart of Fatih, just steps away from the city’s most iconic sights, yet once you’re inside, the noise fades and the focus shifts completely to the table in front of you. Seven Hills Restaurant feels welcoming from the first moment, whether you’re stopping by for a relaxed dine-in experience, grabbing a quick bite between sightseeing plans, or choosing no-contact delivery when you want quality food without leaving your space. I often recommend it for its flexible service options, including outdoor seating, which makes meals feel even more special when Istanbul’s skyline stretches out around you. The menu is where things really get interesting, offering a wide range of choices that suit different moods and preferences without feeling overwhelming. You’ll find thoughtfully prepared halal food alongside vegetarian options, organic dishes, and small plates that are perfect for sharing, while late-night food keeps the place relevant long after dinner hours. Drinks are just as varied, with coffee for slow mornings, cocktails and wine for social evenings, and beer or spirits when you want to unwind. What stands out to me is how naturally everything comes together here, from the friendly, attentive service to the way the dishes are presented with care rather than flash. Seven Hills Restaurant doesn’t try to impress through excess; instead, it creates a comfortable, confident dining experience that feels both local and memorable, making it an easy recommendation for visitors and a reliable favorite for anyone spending time in Istanbul.

I wish there were a way to separate a venue from its food. This place is all about the location — they truly have one of the best views of Hagia Sophia. If what you want is to enjoy a drink while looking at this iconic landmark, then absolutely, go for the view. We only live once, and the setting is undeniably beautiful. The food, however, was just average. They tried very hard to sell “fresh fish,” but they don’t tell you the price beforehand. I ordered a chopped fish salad, a small fish plate, and a gin & tonic. The bill came to 100 USD — and they even charged the gin and the tonic separately (two shots of gin were 50 USD, plus the tonic). It made me wonder if ordering a margarita would mean the limes appear on a separate line on the bill. It definitely feels like a tourist trap — you’re paying for the view, not the food. I enjoyed the view 100%, but would I come back? Probably not.

Seven Hills Restaurant was an unforgettable experience. We came for a Turkish breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious from start to finish, fresh, rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and truly authentic. Every item on the table felt carefully prepared and high quality, making the breakfast both filling and memorable. What made our visit even more special was the outstanding service, especially from Esref and Samet, who took great care of us. They were both incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional, always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our meal. Their warm attitude and genuine hospitality truly elevated the whole experience. Between the amazing food, excellent service, and overall atmosphere, Seven Hills Restaurant is a place I would highly recommend and would happily return to again. A perfect spot to enjoy a real Turkish breakfast and top-class hospitality.

The views from the top terrace are amazing.. you get a clear view of Hagi Sofia and a decent view of the blue mosque.. the water front view is stunning.. we ordered the tradiontal breakfast at 1400/person. The food was too much to eat and many dishes went untouched but the ones we ate where all good.

Went specifically to enjoy the rooftop view. The view was amazing. It was outside therefore it was slightly chilly outside but the reasturant provided light coverup blankets to keep you warm. The staff was amazing, offered us Turkish tea and a pastry and it was amazing.

We visited Seven Hills Restaurant in Sultanahmet, Istanbul on a rainy day after walking around the historic mosques and the Old City. As expected for this area, the restaurant was really crowded, and it took some time to find a table. There is an indoor dining area and an upper rooftop terrace. Because of the rain, guests who were sitting on the rooftop had to move inside, which made the atmosphere even busier and noisier. We ordered Adana kebab. The food was average, and we’ve had noticeably better Turkish food in nearby local restaurants and markets. Considering the food quality, the prices felt high. Due to the crowd, the restaurant didn’t feel very calm or cozy. The main reason to visit this place is the rooftop view. The panoramic view of the mosques, the Bosphorus, and the water is beautiful, with seagulls flying around, perfect for photos and sightseeing. Overall, Seven Hills Restaurant feels much more about the view and location than the food itself, and it’s worth visiting mainly for that reason.
